Jakarta — Following Indonesia's landmark accession as a full member of the BRICS economic bloc in January 2025, PT Anugerah Pertiwi Mandiri (APM) has officially announced a massive expansion of its international shipping and trading network. The national logistics giant is opening new direct shipping lanes connecting Indonesian ports directly to key BRICS markets, including Brazil, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates.

The government's decision to join BRICS—now representing a massive portion of the global population and GDP—has opened unprecedented diplomatic and economic doors. For the trading sector, this means significantly reduced tariffs, streamlined customs protocols, and the potential use of local currency settlements (LCS) which shields businesses from US Dollar volatility.

"Indonesia's BRICS membership is a strategic milestone for the national export industry," stated APM's Director of International Trading, Aldodzi Dwigifron B. A. "By establishing these direct logistics corridors, APM ensures that local commodities, particularly in the agribusiness and sustainable mining sectors, can penetrate these massive emerging markets faster and with much higher cost-efficiency."

Looking ahead, APM plans to leverage this geopolitical shift to not only export Indonesian goods but also facilitate the inbound procurement of advanced industrial equipment from fellow BRICS nations, further accelerating the modernization of domestic infrastructure.
