Jakarta — The national logistics and trading sector received a major confidence boost following the successful finalization of the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA) core negotiations. PT Anugerah Pertiwi Mandiri (APM) publicly welcomed the agreement, highlighting its potential to dramatically increase the volume of Indonesian strategic commodities exported to the European market.
According to the Ministry of Trade, the IEU-CEPA will phase out tariffs on nearly 90% of Indonesian products entering the EU. This includes key exports managed within APM’s trading portfolio, such as sustainably sourced agricultural goods, processed foods, and manufactured steel equipment. The elimination of these fiscal barriers is projected to enhance the cost-competitiveness of Indonesian goods significantly.
“The IEU-CEPA serves as a critical bridge. As a supply chain partner, APM is fully prepared to handle the anticipated surge in cargo volume. We are currently upgrading our digital tracking systems and expanding our maritime network to ensure that Indonesian commodities meet the strict sustainability and quality standards required by European buyers,” stated a representative from APM’s Trading Division.
